As for HR accuracy, I find using the Garmin strap very close to actual on my Garmin watch vs. using my H10 which looks to lag in the polling. If you are a runner and that's it (and maybe work out in other fashions) The HRM-Run is fine. If you do more like bike and swim, the HRM-Tri (with the optional HRM-Swim package strap) is your better bet.
After discontinuing support last year, Strava has reintroduced the ability to pair Bluetooth heart rate sensors with its smartphone app.
boooman. OP ⢠3 yr. ago. Was diagnosed with A FIB. Would like something to measure my heart when Iām just doing random things around the house. I get I can pair it with workout apps. An HR device that came with Garmin will work with Apple Watch IF it transmits in bluetooth. Garmin used the ANT+ radio standard only for years, and recent devices support both ANT+ and Bluetooth. Apple Watch as far as I know only works with Bluetooth devices. I use the Scosche HR monitor shown in the article linked below.

I have the HRM-Pro and it used to connect and sync fine directly with the Connect App, without the need for a watch. Something changed in the last 6 months that has stopped that from happening. I can still connect but the sync fails.Perhaps an older version of the connect app will work still tring to find one for testing.
Polar H10 (or H9), works flawlessly. For me, it was the best blend of comfort, price and ease of cleaning. Itās arguably the gold standard for accuracy. I thought Garminās chest strap material wasnāt comfortable and the pod itself isnāt removable for cleaning, it is on the Polar so you can also change the strap out.
Once Bluetooth is enabled, your Apple Watch should automatically detect the Garmin HRM-Dual and prompt you to pair the two devices. Review: Garminās Hrm-dual Is A Great Heart Rate Monitor For Both Garmin And Apple Device Users. The Garmin HRM-Dual chest strap heart rate monitor is compatible with both the Garmin HRM-Dual and Appleās iPhone
