For the rest of my cultists I've got some old lasgun catachans and cadians with minor customisation to make them look more chaos. I used to be able to field 3 distinct squads of 30 models (one being just cadians) - about half of that is from my chaos themed guard army. 1.) block out the main color for the large panel areas, whether it's dark blue for night lords or black for black legion. This gives you a first chance to see how the models will look. 2.) Do all the trim, finish it. You will get some of this paint onto the first blocked out area, but this is fine, because you can fix it later. The Cultist Warband kit exists to give you even more Cultist model options. It also exists so that you can expand your bad guys selection for the Blackstone Fortress Boardgame. Aside from the Firebrand (the big dude with the flamer) all of the Cultist models in the Warband set are exactly the same size as the models in the Chaos Cultists kit This formidable set of cultists consists of 10 Chaos cultists, 5 Mutant cultists, 3 Torment cultists and 5 Dark commune, each with their own grotesque beauty. We embarked on the challenge of highlighting the details in pale skins, black and red robes, and tarnished metals, following the scheme of the box, but with our unique touch. Helot Chaos Cults must have one Cult Demagogue (leader), and must maintain the 50% Helot Cultist (ganger) composition throughout the cult’s existence. They may employ up to two Cult Disciples (champions) at gang creation, and up to a single Cult Witch (champion). Cult Demagogue (Leader) Primary Skills: Cunning + Ferocity + Leadership Tzeentch or slaanesh, definitely easiest for them to hide and spread. I believe canonically in the empire Slannesh cults are rife due to how flexible excess is, and how easy just a group of people can be lost to excess compared to the other gods regardless of situation or stature. In Cathay it's confirmed Tzeentch (Chi'an Chi) has a massive Wondering which weapon you think would work on my Guardsmen that are often used as cultists? Right now I have the squad of 8 lasguns, 1 flamer, and 1 grenade launcher but would like to have the heavy stubber in there as extra shots makes a big difference with Lethals. Since guardsmen don't have heavy stubbers wondering which weapon makes sense. The big box of 20 men is just 4 of those 5-men sets. So, let's look at some ideas of how to convert Chaos Cultists - soon it will be a very useful skill. The first and the easiest way is to change heads for standard cultists. The head is the first thing you pay attention to. So, they will at least seem different at a first glance. I like the idea, although I think chaos marines bodyparts look a bit off on guardsmen, moreover I believe you could add some othe colours to the lasguns, maybe paint the casing or at least some details, having it entirely metal is not great. Maybe the cultist champion is actually a respected advisor or officer and has been sent to achieve some goal. Maybe the cultist champion is possessed by a Daemon or is revered as a saint, and has some dark, mysterious goal. This kill team is just the beginnings of their following. 104.
